Country music singer, Cumberland Valley High School graduate and this year’s local Fallfest opener Gillian Smith will be auditioning in front of one of her influences during the season 24 premiere of NBC’s “The Voice” tonight, Monday, Sept. 25.
Smith, who released her debut single “Guess You Couldn’t,” in July of 2021 and cites country music legend and new “The Voice” judge Reba McEntire as a creative influence, will perform in the blind audition phase of the NBC singing competition.
There is no word on what night Smith’s audition will be aired.
The first two episodes of the season will air at 8 p.m. tonight and Tuesday, Sept. 26, on WGAL 8, Lancaster, and WCAU 10, Philadelphia.
The episode will be available to stream on NBC’s Peacock platform the day after it airs on NBC.
McEntire joins returning coaches Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and John Legend on the show.
During the “blind audition” phase of the competition, the four judges listen with their backs turned to the singers. They turn their chairs if they’re interested in putting the singers on their “teams.”
Smith, who received the Best Female Country Artist award at the 2023 Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame ceremony, will be opening I-105 WIOV’s Country Fallfest Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Overlook Community Campus in Manheim Township.
