According to Columbia Pictures president Sanford Panitch, the actors’ eagerness to come on board for the project is “because they love these characters”.
It is truly a labour of love, especially since we have the original director Ruben Fleischer, with writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese back as well. Fleischer directed Sony Pictures’ Venom, which was released last year, while Wernick and Reese have been working on the extremely successful Deadpool franchise.
