The release of the highly anticipated film Last Night in Soho, directed by Edgar Wright, has been delayed until 2021. Originally slated for a September 2020 release, the film’s debut has been pushed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Last Night in Soho, a psychological horror film, stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie. The decision to delay the release is in line with other film delays occurring this year as theaters remain closed and audience attendance is limited. Fans of Edgar Wright will have to wait a bit longer to experience his latest cinematic creation..
According to Variety, Focus Features is delaying the release of Edgar Wright’s latest film Last Night in Soho.
The film has been moved back seven months from September 25, 2020 to April 23, 2021. Wright himself took to Twitter to announce the sad news, commenting that the film isn’t quite finished yet because of covid-19. On the bright side, this push to a 2021 release date more or less guarantees we will get to see in on the big screen, instead of a digital release, seeing as how things are still fairly volatile in the cinematic world.
Haunted by someone else’s past, but we’ll see you in the future… It’s true, #LastNightInSoho is not quite finished yet due to Covid 19. But, I’m excited for you all to experience it, at a big screen near you, on April 23, 2021. @LastNightInSoho @FocusFeatures @universaluk pic.twitter.com/zmPnAZICkb

Wright’s psychological thriller stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin McKenzie and Matt Smith. There isn’t much information on the plot details, besides the story being set in London’s Soho district and containing some type of time travel as Thomasin McKenzie’s character gets to experience 1960s London.
In an interview with MTV earlier in the year, actress Taylor-Joy expressed how disturbed she was by the film, but like in a good way. “Not to say much about the movie, but when I watch bits of it back in ADR or whatever I am disturbed,” Taylor-Joy said. “It’s very claustrophobic. The colors are so intense. It’s a really well-directed acid trip. I think people will really like it. You definitely will not be bored.”
