Elisabeth Moss, known for her acclaimed performances in “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Mad Men,” will be collaborating with Blumhouse Productions once again. Moss is set to star as a distressed wife in an upcoming yet-to-be-titled psychological thriller. The film will be directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, known for his work on “The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus.” Moss will also serve as a producer on the project. Blumhouse, renowned for its horror genre films, has previously worked with Moss on “The Invisible Man.” This new collaboration is expected to bring an intense and gripping story to audiences..
As reported by Deadline, Elisabeth Moss is teaming up with Blumhouse to adapt the upcoming Virginia Feito psychological thriller novel Mrs. March, a project which will see Moss take on the role of the titular character. Moss’ own production company Love and Squalor Pictures (she just revealed the logo on her Instagram) will be producing alongside Blumhouse.
Mrs. March follows a polished Upper East Side housewife who unravels when she begins to suspect the detestable protagonist of her husband’s latest bestselling novel is based on her. Is it me, or does this sound like a bit of the plot in the rom-com Music and Lyrics? Pop goes the heart indeed. Feito will write the screenplay and executive produce.
In her statement, Moss said: “I read Virginia’s novel in one sitting and was so captured by it I knew I had to make it and play Mrs. March. As a character, she is fascinating, complex, and deeply human and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into her. Mrs. March is exactly the kind of engaging and challenging female led project that Love And Squalor Pictures is built to make. As a company, we are thrilled to make our debut announcement in the features space as partners with Blumhouse. Having worked with Jason on US and the company on The Invisible Man, I am constantly struck by their creativity and intelligence. Jason Blum is a powerhouse force in the world of storytelling and I am personally honored to be in the Blumhouse family.”
What is unique about this is that Feito’s novel has yet to be officially released into the world, and will only hit the bookshelves in August, 2021.
