GREENFIELD — Raymond Sanchez of Westover Job Corps will be at the Greenfield Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. to answer questions and provide information about the organization.
Westover Job Corps is a tuition-free training and education program that connects eligible young men and women, ages 16 to 24, with the skills and educational opportunities they need to establish real careers.
GREENFIELD — In collaboration with the Tewksbury Public Library, the Greenfield Public Library will present “How NASA is Combating Climate Change” on Friday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m., on Zoom.
The missions of NASA’s Earth Science Division help to understand the planet’s interconnected systems, from a global scale down to minute processes. The division delivers the technology, global observations and applications that help map the myriad connections between the planet’s vital processes and the climate effects of ongoing natural and human-caused changes. Attendees will learn about the efforts of teams of NASA researchers who are currently examining Earth to understand climate change, storms, fires and where people fit into all of it.
The program, led by Elizabeth Hoy, who has been a NASA scientist for more than 10 years, is free, but registration is required. Register for the Zoom link at tinyurl.com/mr2x7zv3. The program will also be recorded, and all registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program.
GREENFIELD — Artspace Community Arts Center at 15 Mill St. will host a closing reception for “Shifting,” a solo exhibit by Annaleah Moon Gregoire, on Friday, Sept. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m.
“Shifting” is the third solo exhibit for Gregoire, a mixed-media artist based in Greenfield. This show features Gregoire’s latest series of oil paintings reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic. By highlighting themes of isolation, rest, healing and community, this series gives the viewer pause to consider the ways in which our lives are changing and being experienced differently as a result of the pandemic.
