A total of 15 Borussia Dortmund players will be away with their respective national teams as club football takes its first break of the season.

The first international break of the 2023/24 season is upon us, and 15 BVB players have been called up for international duty. Six Borussia Dortmund players have been named in the Germany squad for their friendly matches against Japan and France.

Hansi Flick has named Nico Schlotterbeck, Niklas Süle, Emre Can, Felix Nmecha, Julian Brandt, and Niclas Füllkrug in his latest Germany squad. Süle is back in Germany contention after he was left out in June and told by Flick to take a step forward in his attitude and mentality. Füllkrug, meanwhile, is dealing with an injury and has since left the national team camp.

Marcel Sabitzer has been called up by Austria for their friendly match against Moldova and UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier against Sweden.

Sebastien Haller will be away with the Ivory Coast, who will face Lesotho and Mali. While Ramy Bensebaini has been named in the Algeria squad for their matches against Tanzania and Senegal.

Switzerland have crucial Euro 2024 qualifiers against Kosovo and Andorra coming up, and Gregor Kobel has been included in their squad. Donyell Malen will look to help the Netherlands get their European Championship qualifying campaign back on track as they take on Greece and Ireland.

Julian Ryerson and Norway will play a friendly match against Jordan before facing Georgia in a crunch Euro 2024 qualifier. Salih Özcan has been called up by Turkey for their matches against Armenia and Japan.

Youssoufa Moukoko will be in action for Germany U-21s as they go up against Ukraine and Kosovo. While Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is part of the England U-21s squad that will face Luxembourg.
