John Wheeler, a local meteorologist, reports that the region has experienced a relatively quiet year in terms of severe storms. Despite the typical peak storm season during the summer months, there have been fewer incidents compared to previous years. The absence of damaging storms can be attributed to various factors, including unfavorable atmospheric conditions and a lack of moisture. While this calm weather may be considered fortunate for residents, it also emphasizes the unpredictable nature of severe storms and the importance of staying prepared for unexpected weather events..
