BIG BEAVER ― Motorists traveling on Big Beaver Boulevard may experience delays in traffic after one lane of traffic is closed for construction Monday morning.

PennDOT has announced that around-the-clock lane restrictions will begin on Route 18 (Big Beaver Boulevard) as crews continue work on the Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project at 7 a.m. Monday. Crews will restrict the road one mile north and one mile south of the Pennsylvania Turnpike interchange until Oct. 10.

According to officials, the project will include the total reconstruction and widening of the turnpike to three lanes in each direction from Milepost 12 to Milepost 14. A new bridge will also be built along the roadway for motorists crossing the Beaver River. The upcoming lane restrictions will allow crews to safely install curbs, crossovers and drainage areas along the road.

Motorists are advised to practice caution when driving in the area for the workers’ safety. Drivers can check the condition of the road and project status live on the 511PA website and smartphone app.
