‘Lara Trump Envisions Donald Trump’s Mugshot Proudly Displayed on Posters and Flags as a Symbol of Patriotism’ – Hot

Lara Trump has predicted the mugshot of her father-in-law Donald Trump will be on posters, dorm rooms and flags owned by ‘people who love this country.’

The former president is set to be booked into Fulton County jail in Atlanta on Thursday after he was indicted in Georgia for his alleged roles in trying to overturn the 2020 election.

He and 18 other defendants were charged by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on August 14 on RICO and other charges. 

Lara, who is married to his son Eric Trump, said it is ridiculous to think someone as famous as Trump would need a mugshot. She believes it is designed to embarrass the former president but believes it will backfire and the image will be used as a show of support.

It comes after the judge presiding over the former president’s case ruled that cameras will be allowed in the courtroom for his arraignment- which is when defendants enter a plea and will likely happen after Labor Day. 

Lara appeared on Newsmax on Wednesday to discuss her father-in-law’s arraignment in Atlanta on Thursday. 

Host Rob Schmitt said: ‘I’m really curious what’s he going to do with this mugshot.

‘I think he should just smile ear to ear as just the biggest middle finger right back at all of this.’

She replied: ‘It’s absurd to think that Donald Trump, who is one of the most famous people in the world, if not the most famous in the world, would ever need one.

‘But we know the goal with this ad is to try and embarrass him in some way.’ 

Lara thinks Trump’s mugshot will rally supporters and motivate people to vote for him in the upcoming presidential election. 

‘But I think it’s going to backfire on them, just like everything else does,’ she added. 

‘It’s going to be on posters and people’s dorm rooms. It’s going to be on t-shirts. It is going to be a flag flown by people who love this country because they’re backing Donald Trump.

‘They understand how important this is. They understand how absurd all of this is. And it’s exactly why they’re going to rally behind him and they’re going to vote for him in 2024.’ 

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee granted a request on Tuesday to allow four local television stations to bring cameras and recording devices into his courtroom until September 8. 

His order did not indicate if the cameras would be allowed in during the trial. 

District attorney Willis is looking at holding the arraignments for all the defendants during the week after Labor Day, according to The Hill. 

It would be the first time that one of Trump’s criminal proceedings are televised to the world.  

Trump called Willis ‘an out of control and very corrupt District Attorney’, and declared the charges were part of a ‘witch hunt’.

The case – relying on RICO laws that are typically used to bring down mobsters – is the fourth targeting the 77-year-old Republican this year and could lead to a watershed moment, the first televised trial of a former president in US history.

John Dean, who served as Richard Nixon’s White House counsel before turning and testifying against him, helping to bring him down, told CNN the allegations against Trump were ‘much more serious than Watergate.’ 

Trump was charged along with 18 others – Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Ken Cheseboro, Jeffrey Clark, Jenna Ellis, Ray Smith III, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Shawn Still, Stephen Lee, Harrison Floyd, Trevian Kutti, Sidney Powell, Cathleen Latham, Scott Hall and Misty Hampton.

Willis said she wants to try them all at the same time. They have until noon on August 25 to turn themselves in, or else an arrest warrant will be issued.

There are also 30 ‘un-indicted co-conspirators’ – people accused of being part of the plot but not named or charged.
