The official trailer for Netflix’s upcoming film, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, has been released. The trailer showcases Ferrell and McAdams’ humorous performances as they navigate the eccentric world of the international singing competition. With catchy music, extravagant costumes, and a star-studded cast, the film promises to deliver laughter and entertainment. Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga will be available for streaming on Netflix starting June 26th..
Netflix just released the official trailer for Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, and it’s leaving the viewer a bit on the fence. Firstly, the trailer is very long, also, none of the jokes really landed. They might be saving the good stuff for the actual film, but currently it looks more like it’s falling on the cringey side of comedy, which is shame considering the talented cast involved.
Eurovision Song Contest stars Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, who play aspiring musicians Lars (Ferrell) and Sigrit (McAdams). The pair are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, where they finally get the chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for. Ferrell also co-wrote the script with Andrew Steele.
Supporting cast includes Pierce Brosnan, Dan Stevens, Graham Norton and Demi Lovato. While Lovato didn’t appear anywhere in the trailer, and Norton looks like he will just be playing a version of himself (he’s the host), the most interesting addition is Stevens, who looks like he’ll be the most hilarious thing in this. The Russian accent is certainly on point.
The film is obviously a parody of the actual Eurovision Song Contest, and was initially scheduled to release the same month as the contest, which was in May. But the contest was cancelled due to coronavirus, which is the first time this has happened in the contest’s sixty four year history, so the film will now be released on Netflix on June 26, 2020 instead.
