During an appearance on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’, ‘Saturday Night Live’ host Pete Davidson jokingly accused fellow cast member Kenan Thompson of selling his soul to the devil in exchange for his long career on the show. Davidson, known for his quirky humor, made the comment in a lighthearted manner and shared an anecdote about Thompson’s ability to effortlessly perform on the show for over 18 years. Thompson, who appeared amused by the accusation, assured Davidson that his longevity was simply the result of hard work and dedication rather than any supernatural dealings..
After a long delay brought about by the writers’ strike, former “Saturday Night Live” cast member will finally get to host the late night sketch program on October 14, with musical guest . The episode serves as the Season 49 premiere and it will air live coast to coast at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT. Davidson quickly interjects, “Kenan, that’s the devil, dude.”
“What?! Nah,” Thompson says. “I thought it was like a Times Square Elmo or something.” For those keeping track at home, Thompson is about to start his 21st season on the show, extending the record.
Also in the promo video, Thompson claims that Ice Spice is his “favorite rapper,” but Davidson mistakenly thinks he’s referring to him. Later, Davidson confirms that his mother is coming with him to Saturday’s show because they “share a car.” Ice Spice thinks that’s “sweet,” and Thompson can’t believe it. “Wow, that really be working for you, huh?” he asks Davidson.
Davison appeared on “SNL” from 2014 to 2022 and was often seen at the Weekend Update desk where he told personal stories about his life. He’s perhaps best known to the greater public for his romantic relationships with ladies like Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale and Margaret Qualley.

The 48th season of “Saturday Night Live” ended one month earlier than usual, in April, due to the writers’ strike. Davidson, Kieran Culkin and Jennifer Coolidge had been tapped to host the last three episodes of the season, but all were canceled. The Writers Guild of America strike ended on September 27, while the SAG-AFTRA strike is ongoing and began July 14. Since “SNL” does not fall under the purview of the Screen Actors Guild, that is why the show’s actors are allowed to work while picketing is still going on in other parts of the industry.
