Actor Ryan Reynolds recently shared a hilarious “leak” of the full-length movie Detective Pikachu online. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Reynolds pretends to upload the entire movie for viewers to enjoy. However, instead of the actual film, the video is over an hour and a half of Pikachu dancing to music. The clip, titled “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu: Full Picture” quickly went viral and delighted fans. Reynolds’ playful prank showcased his signature sense of humor and further added to the anticipation and excitement surrounding the release of the movie..
Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is likely to be one of the biggest films of the year, so eyebrows were raised when the entire film appeared to have been uploaded on YouTube. Check it out below.
The footage, which runs for 102 minutes, isn’t exactly what it appears to be. Get past the first 30 seconds of the video after the Warner Bros. logo and other associated companies appear and you are treated to almost two hours of the Pikachu dancing away.
While there’s a few moments of the genuine Detective Pikachu movie in the YouTube upload, it is clear that this is just one big marketing ploy. The video was put onto the site by a user called Inspector Pikachu and this same account later tweeted about the supposed leak. Ryan Reynolds, the man who voices the eponymous Pokemon in the film, also got in on the act by retweeting this post to his 13.6 million followers.

The “leaked” movie is worth watching just to get a glimpse of the sweet moves that Reynold’s Pikachu can pull off. Those wanting to actually watch the actual film will have to wait a few more days. Detective Pikachu will be available in cinemas from May 10.
