The second trailer for Birds of Prey has generated renewed excitement for the upcoming DC superhero film. The new trailer showcases the charismatic and quirky character of Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, as she leads a team of female antiheroes against the villainous Black Mask, portrayed by Ewan McGregor. Packed with action-packed sequences, witty dialogue, and a vibrant aesthetic, the trailer has effectively reinvigorated interest in the film among audiences. Birds of Prey promises to be a refreshing addition to the superhero genre, bringing a unique blend of humor, girl power, and badassery to the big screen..
Warner Brothers just released the second official trailer for Birds Of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, and already it seems to be generating more interest than the first. Maybe because there is a hyena named Bruce that steals the show in this trailer.
While the first trailer made it seem all about Harley Quinn, we get a more even distribution in the second trailer, with the other women characters highlighted as well. Obviously Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is the main draw, since she was one of the stand-outs in the sadly dismal Suicide Squad. Harley Quinn is joined by Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), taking on Ewan McGregor’s Roman Sionis aka Black Mask.
The Joker and Harley are broken up in this movie, so Jared Leto’s Joker won’t be making an appearance in Birds Of Prey. There doesn’t seem to be a possibility of a cameo as well, since Leto has been furious ever since Todd Philips’ Joker got the greenlight from Warner Bros. when he had been promised a stand-alone film. It is clear that Warner Bros’ decision to bench him was the result of his poorly reviewed performance in Suicide Squad. Now that Joaquin Phoenix has won a Golden Globe for his performance in Joker, this certainly adds more salt to the wound.
Birds Of Prey will fly its way into cinemas February 7, 2020.
