During the Super Bowl, several trailers were released for highly anticipated films. Marvel Studios unveiled a new trailer for “Black Widow,” offering a deeper look into the story of Natasha Romanoff and her battle against a dangerous conspiracy. Universal Pictures also released a teaser for “Fast & Furious 9,” showcasing intense action and high-speed car chases. Additionally, Disney+ premiered a teaser for their upcoming Marvel series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” These trailers generated excitement among fans, teasing thrilling plots, impressive stunts, and beloved characters returning to the big screen..
The Super Bowl is a big time for film, since we had a whole slew of movies release teasers as part of this event. Disney was heavily represented, as usual, with offerings from Black Widow and Mulan. Black Widow’s trailer has some cool aerial shots of her diving through debris, and of course the focal point of the film which is her relationship with her first family.
As for Mulan, I feel that each new trailer just creates more anticipation for the film, despite my earlier reservations of no songs and no Mushu. The battle scenes look really good, and the arrows narrowly slicing past Mulan’s face is nerve-wrecking stuff.
No Time To Die keeps it simple by just exclaiming that this movie will change everything you know about the Bond franchise. What does that mean? Maybe Craig’s Bond will die. While that may be an extreme guess, if it does happen, then remember you heard it here first.
The Fast and the Furious is the franchise that keeps on giving. When Universal released the official trailer for Fast & Furious 9 last week, we were taken aback by the fact that Han is still alive. How? What? Who? The Super Bowl trailer more or less reiterates the same beats of the official trailer, with an added chant of “Hallelujah” in the background. Yes, the automobile is indeed holy.
Universal’s second offering is The Invisible Man, and this Super Bowl trailer really plays up the stalker premise of the film. Life is volatile enough when you have a stalker, and now the heights of horror are just unimaginable with an invisible one.
Illumination also got in on the fun with a Super Bowl trailer for Minions: The Rise of Gru. Are we tired of seeing the minions on our screens? Maybe number 6 will really be the limit with this franchise.
Top Gun: Maverick is the sequel I never expected, and yet here we are, 34 years later. Somehow, this Super Bowl cut is more intense than the actual trailer, with lots of heavy breathing as Maverick dives with reckless abandon through the air.
