Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated film adaptation of the popular video game series, Uncharted. The film stars Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter on a dangerous mission to find the lost city of Atlantis. The trailer showcases the film’s high-octane action sequences, stunning visuals, and witty banter between the characters. It also introduces Mark Wahlberg as Drake’s mentor, Sully, along with other key cast members. Fans of the game series are eagerly awaiting the release of the film, which is set to hit theaters in 2022..
Sony Pictures and PlayStation Studios have revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Uncharted movie, set to launch in cinemas in February (dates different depending on region). What’s The Uncharted Movie About?
The Uncharted movie is separate from the events of the video game series, instead telling the story of how Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) came into contact with Sully (Mark Wahlberg), and how the two became a legendary treasure hunting duo. The two team up for an adventure in search of “the greatest treasure never found”, along with hunting down clues that may reunite Nathan with his long-lost brother, Sam.
The Uncharted movie is directed by Ruben Fleischer, who served as the director for both Zombieland movies and the original Venom, so plenty of action is to be expected. From the looks of the trailer, the action certainly delivers, even if it does borrow some of the ideas from the original Uncharted games. We’ve already seen Nathan Drake dangle out of the back of a plane, though the version shown in the trailer certainly looks impressive. Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas are also co-starring.
What About The Uncharted Games?
If you’d rather play the games again, it’s also worth noting that Sony and Naughty Dog are working on Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, remastered versions of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy, which will be released on PC and PS5 in early 2022.
