A movement against Arizona State University’s Athletic Director, Ray Anderson, has launched a website and put up billboards to express their dissatisfaction with his leadership. The website, fire-ray.com, aims to gather support and provide a platform for critics to voice their concerns about Anderson’s decisions and actions. The billboards, strategically placed in Phoenix, display messages urging people to join the movement and hold Anderson accountable. The organizers hope that the website and billboards will raise awareness and put pressure on the university to address the criticisms and potentially remove Anderson from his position..
How angry are Arizona State fans with ASU Athletic Director Ray Anderson?
Evidently angry enough to purchase mobile billboards with a message to fire him.
The billboards, with messages “#FireRayAnderson” and “Only you can save ASU athletics” have a link to a website behind a campaign for the ouster of Anderson, FireRayAnderson.com.
That gets right to the point.
Jared Payne, the fan behind the website and billboards, said that the billboards would be going around ASU’s stadium throughout the night before, during and after the Sun Devils’ season opener against Southern Utah on Thursday.
Payne took to X, the site formerly known as Twitter, to show off the billboards.

Payne isn’t alone in his desire to see the removal of Arizona State’ athletic director, who is not popular for the way he handled the allegations of recruiting improprieties related to former head coach Herm Edwards and his staff, the way Edwards’ firing was handled, nor how Arizona State just recently self-imposed a bowl ban for the 2023 college football season (among other complaints).

The angst with Anderson has now risen to the level of mobile billboards imploring for his dismissal.
